We are recruiting for a HR Absence Adviser in the Swansea area.

As a HR Absence Adviser you will need to have/be:

  • Proven experience within an HR Adviser/Assistant role
  • Experience within a warehouse environment desirable
  • An understanding of HR policies and procedures
  • Excellent understanding and application of discriminatory law in relation to managing absence
  • An understanding of employment law issues
  • Excellent communication skills, written and verbal
  • Ideally CIPD qualified / part qualified
  • GCSE Maths and English
  • Flexibility towards working hours to meet the needs of the business

Details:

  • Salary: £26,000 per annum
  • Working Hours: 37.5 hours a week (shifts)
  • Location: Swansea
  • Duration: 12 Month Fixed Term Contract

Role of HR Absence Adviser:

  • Support the Management team with all absence related processes, including tracking, reporting and recommending action
  • Adhering to policies and procedures, ensuring that employment law and best practice is adhered to
  • Ensure all absences are identified and managed, referring to occupational health as needed. Ensuring all procedural documentation is accurately recorded
  • Manage short term and long term sickness absence through to dismissal
  • Update and maintain absence information on the HR systems
  • Provide professional advice to managers on a range of aspects of employee relations
  • Support and advise managers as appropriate, organising, attending and documenting meetings with staff
  • Be responsible for the coordination and analysis of absence reports, ensuring these are sent to the relevant managers
  • Review absence reports, analysing and identifying trends, problems within areas and action as appropriate with guidance from the HR Manager
  • Provide support to managers and onsite agency in investigation of time and attendance (T&A) breaches, utilising CCTV as appropriate
  • Produce monthly, and adhoc, absence related overviews, both written and visually aided, to highlight and identify absence levels
  • Make changes to, undertake regular reviews and implement relevant policies
  • Deliver training and coaching to managers in respect of Managing Sickness Absence and other elements of absence
  • Identify issues and work to resolve with relevant line manager and department
  • Manage and provide accurate payroll information, ensure payroll deadlines are strictly adhered to
  • Work closely and build relationships with the Line Managers in order to influence best practice management techniques
